  1.0 Introduction

This document describes how to use configuration profiles with KlasRouter.  A configuration profile allows users to save the network settings for back-up or use at a later time.  Once a profile is saved, the user can do four things: 1) Load the profile directly from KlasRouter; 2) Delete the profile; 3) Upload the profile to a TFTP Server using the built-in TFTP server on KlasRouter; or 4) Download a profile from a TFTP Server into KlasRouter’s memory.   The following paragraphs outline in detail how to accomplish each of these tasks.

  2.0 Configuration of KlasRouter

2.1 Cable Connections

Prior to beginning, ensure the following cable connections have been properly secured:

  1. Power cord is plugged in and KlasRouter is on.
  2. Control Port Cable is connected to the PCs serial port.
  3. Control Port Cable is connected to the ‘Control’ port on the front of the KlasRouter.
  4. Computer running a TFTP Server is connected to Ethernet LAN Port 1 through an Ethernet cable with an RJ-45 connector at both ends.

2.2 Establishing a HyperTerminal Session

To configure the KlasRouter, you must establish a HyperTerminal Session between a PC and the KlasRouter. Follow the instructions in KlasRouter Application Note Q10601 to successfully establish a HyperTerminal Session and open the KlasRouter Main Configuration Menu.

2.3 Saving a KlasRouter Profile
